Essence of Christmas

You'd Better Not Pout!
This is the message of Christmas: We are never alone
-Taylor Caldwell

The feel of the cool soothing air dew embraces my whole body and the sun’s rays that find its ways to the half-opened window forced my eyes to open. Yes, I was awakened by the gentle breeze that the morning offers me and I can’t really help myself in repeating this act. Maybe, this is what they’ll call December feels.
Speaking of this month, wherein Jesus Christ, the Great Redeemer was born, we’re all aware that it is the happiest season of the year. Christmas as we called it, celebrated every 25th day of December.

As we can see, colorful lanterns, shimmering lights, decorated Christmas trees and Belen’s are hanging everywhere. Well, it has been our tradition which symbolizes the spirit of Christmas. Some also says that Santa Claus is a part of it and maybe they really believe that Santa Claus really exists.
Nevertheless, Christmas is the season of joy, happiness, togetherness, hope and love. It is a time thanksgiving, loving sharing and forgiving one’s fellowman. So we must put Jesus Christ as the center of our life. Not only that but also bear this into your mind that Christmas is not just all about Santa Claus, giving gifts to the children, it is not just all about Rudolph, the red nose reindeer but it is all about Jesus Christ who was born in the Bethlehem.

Climate Change

We have to face the reality of climate change. It is arguably the biggest threat we are facing today.

-William Hague
Climate change is one of our major problems that are partially caused by the natural cycles of Earth. The world’s climate is changing, and the changes will have an enormous impact in our daily lives.
Greenhouse gases, carbon dioxide, and fossil fuel are some of the factors lead to climate change which is dangerous to human health and ecosystems. It is already affecting our communities through increasingly frequent and severe droughts, floods, extreme storms, sea level rise, and heat waves.
All commitments to change our individual and collective behavior can be based on a moral commitment to environmental sustainability, motivated by a deeply-held concern for the well being of future generations, other living beings and Earth systems.
Measures to stop climate change need to be taken now. We should make a move now, stand on an edge and clutch one’s hand for uniformity to make this world a better place.

Outpouring Hearts and Minds through Literacy and English Proficiency

Dare to Read and Dare to Speak…
“They had nothing in common but the English language.”
E.M. Forster
Literacy does not only mean about writing, reading and speaking capabilities it has a broader meaning behind and that is to guide people towards awareness and the change which is needed in order to achieve a better way of living.
Therefore, we must have at least something to do during our free time. Try to read any book, make your own story or compose a song. That’s even better because doing those some sort of things can broaden our ideas. We can also express our feelings and thoughts from here.
Meanwhile, speaking English makes it possible for us to gain confidence and stand out among the rest of the nations in the world. Filipino’s seek jobs for survival; we know the fact that most jobs nowadays require applicants to be good in English. Proficiency in the English Language is also beneficial when we want to seek employment in other countries for instance.

These are some of the reasons why we should learn and improve our skill in speaking and writing in English no matter how crooked it is. Anyway, there’s no harm in trying right? So just dare to read and dare to speak.

Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities

“I am a free man, I have the rights of freedom and I wanted to be free.” Well hundreds of times we want that to utter and millions of times we want it to be guaranteed. We are all human beings who have rights and liberties that cannot justly be violated by others.
Nevertheless, discrimination occurs and we can’t avoid it for this is still one of the major problems in our society. But, we have that Democratic system; we have the free will and equal representation of people. Yet, we have it equally; no matter what is your state here in our society either you’re rich or poor. Those on higher authorities shouldn't rule us for we have those rights to bear that in mind.
No one should threaten and deprive us from our right. Although, we must forget one’s insecurity and give them the rights to maintain that equal opportunities as we were created by God equally.

Reflection (Second Grading Period)

Reflection

“It’s not the fault of the mirror if you do not like your reflection.”
Time moves so swiftly and irrevocably not knowing that another chapter in our life is about to end and we can’t accept the fact but to turn it to the next page. You can’t just stare at the ceiling and sigh, “Ah, that’s life.” Oh, dear, just seize the day and go with the flow.
Before this quarter ends, I think I should summarize it on my own. Well, I really don’t think too much about our brain and how it works but there’s significant reason why I’m entering school, it’s to explore, socialized and expand my knowledge.
With the help of this subject ICT-IV, I had improved especially with my grammar still because of blogging and of course I gained more knowledge.
This subject had really impacted my life and had a great influence with me. However, I found this subject interesting that motivates me to study hard and to exert more effort. Our world is rapidly drawing to a close, a new one is about to open and I think I’m ready to turn the next page; the third quarter and it seems to be more exciting.

My Teacher, My Hero

Words to Ponder…
He/she entered in our room with a class record and a lesson plan in his/her hand and then says, “Okay class Good morning/Good afternoon, get ready for the next lesson.” Then the bell rungs…… “Okay class dismissed, Goodbye.” My hero always says. Patience, initiative, determination, faith, a servant at heart, these are the keys of one’s success of a silent yet knowledgeable teachers who could change the history of their students.
In my fifteen years of existence, I have met teachers who used to be part of my life and I’m very thankful to them for they are like a candle, it consumes itself to light the way for others. Without them, I will not be able to find the light which serve as my path. They’re the reason why I am beginning to reach my aspirations, dreams and goals in life. The way they inspired me every time I see their beautiful and handsome faces, their sweet and captivating smiles that brightens me all day long. The way they erase and unload those burdens and difficulties I am going through. The way they cracked jokes that made me feel laugh and not be bored. The way they treated me like their daughter and the way they taught me with all their heart and soul. I know how hard to be a teacher is. Their sacrifices with truly tremendous heart helped me to become a stronger individual throughout the years.
Sometimes I can’t think of words to describe how teachers really impacted my life. But all I ever know is that my teachers are my hero from the past, today and for the future.

My Modern Hero

As I Look Back..
I opened my eyes and felt relaxed
As I see someone with shining and sparkling eyes
A very beautiful woman like an angel in disguise
Gleaming at my face, she cheerfully smiles.

Her ever constant love can never be compared
Though hers is unchanging, forever and unlimited
Her love for me is pure and will never change
A precious gem, I will never forget.

When it comes to troubles, fears, sickness and sorrow,
Whatever challenges I will undergo,
She is always there for me and never let go
And show me the way for a brighter tomorrow.

She’s my hero, my best friend and my everything
A very caring woman, loving and understanding
If you don’t know her and was still wondering,
I can tell you who that woman is, she’s my mother dear.

Wika ng Pagkakaisa

Wikang Filipino'y Mahalin, Gamitin at Palaganapin
"Ang hindi marunong magmahal sa sariling wika ay higit pa sa malansang isda."
-Dr. Jose Rizal

Pilpino tayo’t kulay kayumanggi
May sariling wika na dapat ipagmalaki
Mahalin ito’t gamiting mabuti
Dahil ito’y para rin sa ating ikabubuti.

Wikang Filipino’y pahalagahan at mahalin
Sama-sama natin itong palaganapin
Saanman pumaroon, ito ay gamitin
Upang tuwid na daan ay ating tatahakin.

Kaibigan, ano pa’ng hinihintay niyo?
Gamitin ito’t, magkakaunawaan tayo
Magkaisa tayo’t isigaw sa mundo,
“Pilipino ako’t Filipino ang wika ko.”

Reflection on Subject ICT-IV

Knowledge Through Success

My classmates chatting here, chatting there, discussing here, discussing there, await my eyes as I entered in our room. It’s no wonder that this is the first thing I always notice every time I heard the bell ringing that afternoon offers me.
ICT IV is our subject for this time, a subject that is a very interesting and I've learned a lot from it. One is all about the great pioneers and their contribution to the Internet and its history. Another is blogging which is fun. Learning to create a blog and make some posts regarding one’s insights on what was happening around us. It was such a great advantage to the students like me with this kind of knowledge.
Nonetheless, I have also encountered some problems and challenges in this subject. Getting a score that is not good enough.
Now it’s already second grading and it’s time to move on to what the first grading offered me. And with that, I consider it as a lesson. That happening awakened me to study hard and to exert more effort. Because I knew that things changes, nothing stays the same and if you want to make it better, you must have something to do, something that could make you succeed.

REACTION- President Benigno S. Aquino III 5th State of the Nation Address

“Those who do not look back to the past, will never get to where they wish to go. Therefore, today it is only right for us to reflect on what we have gone through.”
- President Benigno S. Aquino III

President Benigno S. Aquino III delivered his 5th State of the Nation Address (SONA) last July 28, 2014. As the father of the nation, the president has to take into consideration all interests and points of view of every one with a clear main goal: to bring back the government to its mandate: to serve the people in a good way.

In his SONA, we are expecting him to discuss more about what is happening now – impeachment complaints because of DAP, territorial disputes, pork barrel scam, energy problems and more. Despite the improvements, there are still that matters. But he cannot handle each of our problems; PNoy is not only focusing on one life but millions of Filipino’s.  I know that he’s giving his best and striving to fully restore the economy of the Philippines and it is also up to us, citizens to participate in this journey to success and to make our country a better place.

Letter to the President of the Philippines

Letter to the President of the Philippines

Mr. President:

Greetings of peace, joy and good health!
I just wanted to give my reactions regarding to the Law you've implemented which is the anti-bullying. It has been approved but there are still some of the schools and places that do not literary following and doing the said Law due to self-distrust and irresponsible students and people of the country.
It's good that there's a Law against anti-bullying. However, it helps our country to lessen those violent and demanding people. Honestly speaking, people who are been bullied, teased and was been criticize can't hardly fight for their right's and freedom's or can't hardly fight for themselves.
I hope that this Law will be successful; it may not be as of now but for the other days and will continue working. Nevertheless, I am giving my heartfelt appreciation to you sir for being a good and dedicated President.

Very Truly Yours,
SHAINA ABLOG
